Who's lady p?
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

Lady P = Lady Pirate = Isabela

And this is a good time to point people to a glossary of nicknames that can be found here. Also linked on the sidebar.

Re: Hawke's personality. You can check your Hawke's personality by switching to another party member and then clicking on Hawke. Hawke will say something nice, funny, or blunt depending on the majority of dialogue choices thus far. It also 'resets' somewhat at the beginning of Act 2--whatever you choose as your *first* response at the start of the act (when you're talking to the Viscount) is heavily weighted and can switch you from one personality type to another.

I just loaded up DA2 to do this. Mom!Hawke made comments about being the leader of a band of merry misfits and then demanded to know what earth-shattering problem needed her attention this time. The last one I got was “Hawke this, Hawke that. Why does every little problem fall to me.”

Asker Anonymous Asks:
Wait. Mom!Hawke looks like the default (at least, to me), but Carver and Bethany's faces/hairstyles only change when Hawke's head type is different. Am I missing something here?
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

I use appearance mods, that’s part of it. I know her head mod isn’t the default, and her complexion/skin color definitely aren’t. Mom is playing on my PC (cries), so she has all the appearance mods I do.

I'm loving this blog! Just out of curiosity what personality does your Mum's Hawke have?
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

Since I wasn’t sure, I asked her, and she said she tends to pick the second and third options the most. So a direct, but snarky Hawke who doesn’t have time to deal with anyone crap.

Which was pretty much her Shep.

what are you planning to do when your mother finishes DA2 (and the DLCs)? any other games you're going to play? or will you just wait for DA3?
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

Mom will probably just wait for DA3 and any other ME DLC that are released.

Can you show us Bethany, Carver, Gamlen and Leandra, too? If it's not too much trouble?
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

I think I managed to nab a few screenshots of Beth and Carver in that initial cut scene. I’ll load up her save tonight and get the siblings and Leandra and, if she plays far enough this afternoon, Gamlen. Otherwise, I’ll post them all as soon as she gets to them!

Would you ever consider a formal interview with you and your mom regarding her choices and her thoughts on the overall themes of the games? I think both of you are some of the few that have identified the more subtle points the developers have included in the mythos and relationships of the squad members.
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

Ah, wow, this is really flattering - that you think we’ve pointed some things out as well as that you think our opinions matter <3 I think mom would be okay with an interview with the right people!

I love it when I see the older generation try out video games and connecting with them. I tried getting my own mother to play Mass Effect but she was actually too impatient to play it, hahaha. And people say video games shorten attention spans. :P But yeah. I really am glad you were able to get your own mother to learn how great video games can truly be.
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

I am, too! Bonding with my mom over games, something she used to give me grief for, has been a really awesome experience.

So, DA2 keeps being mentioned... any idea for a timeframe on when your mom might start that, now that she's done with ME3?
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

I’d give it a bit of time. Probably a week or two? We’re working out the logistics of her playing DA2 on my computer (or me installing it on hers) instead of on the PS3. Which means she doesn’t get an import (though claims my game is “good enough”), but she says she likes playing on the computer more.

I am apparently Tumblr incompetent--I would like to read Reg's Mom's ME journeys in chronological order, but I can't figure out how to do that easily from the archives. From the block positioning, I can't reliably tell which way to go to get to the next one, and there doesn't seem to be a way to just go "next" from any given post. Is there some simpler way? Thanks.
biowareaccordingtomom biowareaccordingtomom Said:

Nooo, tumblr is REALLY confusing at times. If you use the reg’s mom plays mass effect tag, it’s set to load up in chronological order. Read top to bottom (if you don’t use the chrono tag, you have to read bottom to top and it’s even worse). The page navigation is at the bottom! Hope that helps!
